Travel for Social Good

What We Stand For

Giraffes in a Field

Our mission is to empower families to go on life-changing adventures.

Our vision is to transform how families travel and experience the world. We dream moms and dads to feel confident taking their kids across the country and around the world. We want their children grow up with their perspective and purpose shaped by these travel experiences.

We have had the opportunity to travel to more than thirty countries around the world. These experiences inspire and challenge us to do business in a purposeful way. We are committed to social and environmental responsibility and to giving back.

Responsible Sourcing

We curate and create products that enable family adventure. When we look for new products, we care about quality and design. We also care about making the world a better place!

As of 2017, over 75% of our collection is sourced from companies committed to making a positive impact in the world. We define impact in terms of the following:

  • Social Responsibility
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Cultural Awareness and Inclusiveness

Petit Collage

Petit Collage is passionate about transparency and environmental sustainability. The company makes products with recycled, renewable and FSC-certified paper and wood and vegetable or water-based inks. All of their products are non-toxic and safe. The company creates creative games, toys and art supplies featuring artwork commissioned from children’s book illustrators.  These illustrations often feature people from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds. eeBoo’s products are designed to give kids an awareness of the world.

Giving Back

1% for the Planet LogoAs a member of 1% for the Planet, Penguino Travel has joined global network of businesses, nonprofits and individuals working together for a healthy planet. We give 1% of our profit to environmental organizations protecting the planet for future generations.

We care about our community and give back to needs here in Texas. In 2016, we partnered with World Relief Fort Worth to give Welcome Boxes to refugee families.  In 2017, we provided Care Boxes to families displaced by Hurricane Harvey.

Why Travel for Social Good?

We believe travel can change the world.

Travel has the power to create good jobs, lifting families out of poverty and empowering women. Sustainable tourism has the power to protect culture and environment. Together we can make a powerful difference around the world – and this is especially true in the developing world!

The travel industry represents 10% of the global economy, sustaining 200 million jobs. Tourists spend nearly $400 billion a year in developing countries, yet only $5 out of every $100 spent remains in the countries visited. Ownership of global travel brands, including airlines, hotels and technology companies, is concentrated in North America and Europe. Imagine what could happen if even $10 out of each $100 spent could be put to work creating jobs, empowering communities and protecting the environment?

As we build technology that will transform how families travel, we see a tremendous opportunity to do good.

Our unique approach to travel planning will connect families who want to go somewhere with families who live there. Local families will have the opportunity to earn an income sharing what they love about their community. These locals will share their favorite accommodations, markets, restaurants and more, growing the local economy. These families will also educate travelers about cultural, social and environmental responsibility at their destination.
